HURRAY FOR THE RIFF RAFF + LITTLE RED BIRD (8:30 pm)
£6/£7

Hurray for the Riff Raff is an American country/folk band from New Orleans, Louisiana. Alynda Lee Segarra is Hurray for the Riff Raff's creative force, as she writes and sings all of the band's songs.
Alynda ran away from her home in the Bronx, aged 17 and then spent time crossing North America, hopping freight trains. During this time, she became a part of The Dead Man Street Orchestra, who were documented in a photo essay by Time Magazine in 2007.
After two self-released albums (2008s It Don't Mean I Don't Love You and 2010s Young Blood Blues), the band released a self-titled CD composed of Alynda's favorite songs from those records on Loose Music in Europe on March 21, 2011.
Tracks from the band's debut release have received airplay on BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music.
In February 2011, the band were featured in an article in The Times, based around the HBO TV series, Treme, with their track "Daniella" being listed in their selection of New Orleans' essential songs.
In May of 2012, Hurray for the Riff Raff released Look Out Mama on their own label, Born to Win Records. No Depression said Look Out Mama, "Sounds like something The Band would’ve had playing on a Victrola while making Music From Big Pink in Woodstock." - BBC Music.
Regularly played by Huey Morgan on both Radio 2 and BBC6 Music, this is an Ironworks special! Check out the title track from their new album @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g9nDsFHERM
PLUS support from Little Red Bird.

DUSTIN BENTALL & KENDEL CARSON (8:00 pm)
£5/£7

Dustin Bentall hails from Vancouver, BC and it seems an unlikely place to nurture such a rustic troubadour. It seemed like an unlikely country for Rick Danko, Robbie Robertson, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel or Neil Young to be from… until people took a closer look. Kendel Carson has played the UK alongside the great Chip Taylor and had a radio 'hit' in her own right a few years ago with 'I Like Trucks' that still gets plays on Radio 2 and regionally. Her album was at Number 4 in the UK Americana charts for weeks.
Joining forces in 2011 Bentall and Carson have formed what is an incredible partnership with The Smokes, one of Canada's finest new bands. They will be releasing an EP, Orion' at end of March. You’ll find a reverence for the tales of everyday life and loss and you’ll find a lot of people who have time to woodshed and learn their craft. Spinning songs by Neil Young, The Band, Bob Dylan, John Prine, Tom T. Hall, The Beatles, Wilco and Steve Earle Dustin found the heart of that music and placed it under his own landscapes.
The narcotic cowboy thing you hear in Dustin’s music comes from his love for Gram Parsons, The Flying Burrito Brothers and the Byrds with their so-called ‘Cosmic American Music.’ That is, not to mention the time he has spent in the saddle ropin’ and branding steers on the ranch.
Dustin recently opened some shows for Kathleen Edwards on the west coast. Concert goers in Vancouver are getting accustomed to seeing him up on stage for a Blue Rodeo encore. To complete the cross-Canada connection he snagged guitar slinging demon Luke Doucet for a couple days in the studio to Cameo on the new record. Dustin has done a lot of writing with Canadian Country Music up and comer Ridley Bent. One song in particular “Nine Inch Nails” holds the honors of 2008’s Country Song Of The Year with the Independent Music Awards of North America.

BLACKHEART (8:00 pm)
£8/£10

According to the BBC, Blackheart are “Taking the acoustic scene by storm.”
Radio 2’s Aled Jones pronounced them “A great band.” Good Morning TV said
“Beautiful” Italy’s Radio Gold called it “Inspired music.” American Public TV proclaimed “Blackheart don’t sound like anyone else, rather they remind us why music lifts us up.”
In just four years, pioneering British arthouse folk duo Blackheart have achieved
more than many bands do in a decade. Their rise to fame started when their song ‘Unlike Water’ was used on the Moben Kitchens TV commercial. Since then they have gone on to record two albums, have Radio 2 Spotlight Song of the Day twice, successful tours of UK, Ireland and two headline tours of Australia and New Zealand.
Their music and unique sound defy categorisation, combining acoustic instruments and the voice of Chrissy Mostyn laced with effects, atmospherics and electronica to create a unique blend of intelligent acoustic folk rock. Their highly personal songs are flavoured with piercingly sharp observations, beautifully crafted lyrics and powerfully driven melodies which, as Australia’s Western Star commented, “Take their audiences from uplifting to heartbreaking in a single song”
Their third album ‘Songs From A Satellite’ is scheduled for release in
June 2013.

OPM - 2013 TOUR (9:00 pm)
£10/£12

THEY'RE BACK!!!
Last year's gig was one of the best nights ever @ The Ironworks - for anyone who doesn't know who they are and what they're about read on.
The name OPM, according to the band's frontman John E. Necro, is an abbreviation of the phrase "Open People's Minds". This was stated during an interview with MarijuanaRadio.com. The name also sounds like the drug opium.
OPM released their debut album, Menace to Sobriety, in August 2000 on Atlantic Records.
Their debut single "Heaven Is a Halfpipe" charted worldwide and won the Kerrang! Award for Best Single.
In 2002, they signed to Suburban Noize Records who released three album and two EPs.
Their second album, ForThemAsses, was released in June 2004. The album was produced by OPM and Steve Gallagher. Their third album was California Poppy, released in July 2006. OPM released their fourth album, Golden State of Mind in September 2008.
The band has joined the new label MNO records and release their new single "Holiday under the sun".
Guaranteed to be a sell-out!
